Owen Sims Community coach & U12s girls coach

Owen started his football journey with Brighton and Hove Albion at the age of 10, moving on to Portsmouth Academy where he spent 5 years at the club. At 16 he started the scholarship programme with Woking FC Academy. In his first year he was lucky enough to be a part of the squad that reached the third round of the FA Youth Cup. He also made several appearances for the first team against the likes of Crawley Town and Dulwich Hamlet. At the start of his second year, he was involved in a pre-season friendly against West Bromwich where he played 45 minutes in front of 4,000 fans, a personal highlight of his footballing career to date.

Towards the end of his second year Owen became involved with Woking FC Academy Youth, helping to coach the younger players. CITC sponsored his FA Level 1 qualification as he started delivering sessions within the community at local schools and half-term camps.

Owen currently oversees the first ever Woking FC Academy Girls squad. The team plays in the JPL Warriors league. He is extremely enthusiastic about the squad and delighted to see the players improving every week. Since being involved, the team has won three games on the bounce and Owen looks forward to more progress and improvements by the end of the season.
